The Duck Swap

I feel like I am attempting to pull off the ultimate parenting heist.

Seriously, I'm a little nervous as to whether I'm capable of outsmarting my toddler.

I'm not sure where you draw the line of lying to your kids...

But let's just say, this situation will involve some make believe.

And story telling.

And when she figures this out one day...she may never forgive us.

Tonight, we are swapping out Mikah's Mama Duck.

How?!? You may ask.

With some Easter magic of course!

Or at least that's our story as to how this worn down duck looks like new.

We are telling our witty 3 year old,

that the Easter Bunny himself gave her Mama Duck a makeover.

Now, I know this is a little much.

But seriously, this duck goes EVERYWHERE.

To the doctor's office.

To the grocery store.

Every holiday and get together.

And despite the many baths in the washing machine,

Mama Duck is looking a little rough.

She doesn't smell the best either.

And did I mention she's in most of our family photos?

One of her wings was barely holding on.

She has paint on her nose.

Her feathers don't even look like feathers.

She's almost out of stuffing.

The poor duck can't even sit up anymore.

Let's just say, she's in need of a little TLC.

So tomorrow morning,

Mikah will wake up to a BRAND NEW Mama Duck.

(And believe it or not, this is the identical duck THANKS NONNIE)

Along with a note from the famous bunny,

to explain the whole situation.

So tonight, I'll be brushing up on my acting skills.

Fingers crossed she believes us.

And for anyone who notices the swap...

Play along. Or else.

Happy Easter!
